ABOUT “BOKISI”..
“BOKISI” A Tsonga term for box. Why box? Bokisi is a ladies streetwear brand founded by fashion designer Maria Mahlangu, that is meant to ignite imagination and spark curiosity.
What is in the box?
This collection is mainly inspired by the term Dy-No-Spec, playing with different textures and colours into the mix. It further implements the feminine and masculinity that complement each other through textures of the fabric, design silhouettes and the vibrancy of the colour tints to the fabric trims.
DY-NO is derived from a popular slang word from the 70s’-80’s mean- ing terrific. SPEC comes from the word specta/spectrum. It is a band of colours, as seen in a rainbow of the components of light by their different degrees of refraction according to wavelength.
